Heartbreaking Story of a Man Who Lost His Sister in the Jaranwala Blasphemy Riots.
The violence that erupted in Jaranwala, Pakistan, on August 16, 2023, in the wake of blasphemy allegations against a Christian man, left a trail of destruction and pain. One of the most heartbreaking stories is that of a man named Zaib , who lost his sister in the riots. In that’s incident 21 churches, lots of bibles, lots of Christians home are burned.
Zaib is mentally disabled. He is unable to speak or communicate effectively. He lives with his sister, Alisha , who takes care of him. On the day of the riots, Zaib and Alisha were at home when a mob of angry people attacked their house. The mob set fire to the house, and Alisha was trapped inside and burned alive. Zaib watched in horror as his sister died.
The mob also destroyed Zaib’s house. He is now homeless and without any family. He is struggling to cope with the trauma of what he has experienced.
Mercy on Life Ministries, a Christian charity organization, is working to help Zaib rebuild his life. They have provided him with food, clothing, and shelter. They are also providing him with counseling and support.
Zaib’s story is a reminder of the devastating impact that blasphemy laws can have on innocent Christians people. It is also a reminder of the importance of compassion and love for those who are suffering.
